Solo performance integrating video and live action.
Semi-autobiographical in nature, the work was based on the experience of growing up in the semi-rural landscape of South Essex.
Essex centred on a simple series of pedestrian movements (6 gestures in total) derived and abstracted from observations during location-based research for the performance. Sequences were choreographed for the extended stage i.e. the physical stage space together with the space created through perspective of the projected imagery.
