Shrink’d (2004–2006)

Set in a tightly lit square surrounded by the audience, Shrink’d is a dance of extreme close ups. Bite size punchy movements are interlaced with secret messages and dedicated to unsuspecting members of the audience.

Commissioned by Woking Dance Festival and Engine Room and Take Art! Shrink’d toured extensively throughout the UK and in Germany. Before and after the show audience members were invited to journey through a landscape of interactive environments. Shrink’d Installations were also presented independently at The Engine Room, Bridgwater and at Saddler’s Wells.

Created as a collaboration between choreographer Yael Flexer, digital artist Nic Sandiland, composer Nye Parry, lighting designer Petter Skramstad and company performers Lyndsey McConville, Saju Hari, Bonita Chan and Lisa Kendall, Shrink’d celebrated the ridiculous, performed under claustrophobic conditions.
