A lecture presentation / practical with examples, techniques and concepts behind using video and projection in the context of live performance (principally dance and theatre).

The workshop covers both technical and creative aspects of using projection in performance. It looks at what equipment and facilities are needed for the creation of such work and, importantly, what is available to those on a tight budget. Some of the workshop delivers practical advice on aspects such as: brightness, resolution, rigging etc, other parts of the workshop focus on reasons behind using projection in performance dwelling on such ideas as: how the audience perceives an intermedial event, and how projection can be used not just as an effect but as a tool to create a new arena for performance
