Doing by Flexer & Sandiland. In a large space a female figure stands in the centre looking at a large screen projection of people moving.

Doing was a two-screen immersive video installation depicting a dance rehearsal.

The viewer’s motion, as they passed through the installation, actively caused the projected media to play in reverse. As the viewer moves, their activity draws the film further and further into the past delving deeper into the history of the events portrayed on the screens.

The piece uses ultra-sensitive motion detection and high-speed film to create a deeply visceral engagement between viewer and media.
