Flexible and Not So Flexible 2000-01

Flexible and Not So Flexible by Yael Flexer. A blurred photo of a person standing with their arms outstretched and head back.

“The rise and rise of the Israeli born Yael Flexer to front the rank of contemporary choreographers has hit the home stretch”

- Metro London

A fictional autobiography in three parts, Flexible and Not So Flexible examined shifting notions of identity and borders, where personal intentions collide and desires are negotiated.

“Yael brings a different perspective, a dynamic energy and a quirky humour to the work she creates, both for her own company and for others. Unforced, unaffected, unconventional and under stated, are adjectives that crop up regularly in reviews. Her fresh and often funny choreographic take on personalities and relationships is a welcome addition to the British contemporary Dance scene.”
