Stereo Dances 2004

Stereo Dances by Nic Sandiland. Two women are in the foreground. They are wearing headphones and are facing each other with their arms outstretched. In the background are another two people in a similar position.

Stereo Dances is an interactive choreography for two people.

Participants each wear a set of headphones through which they hear, and react to, a set of movement instructions. These instructions are different for each person but designed to work together creating a synchronised duet lasting for 3-5 minutes.

Stereo Dances was a development from Nic Sandiland’s earlier work Move-O-Matic, made as part of the exhibition Choreography shown at the Place Theatre, London in 1999.
