The People 2017

The People by Flexer & Sandiland. A black & white image, slightly blurred image of legs walking. They are wearing black trousers and shoes.

The People is a personal reflection and meditation in response to the tumult of the 2016 UK referendum. It gives voice to the confusion and pandemonium experienced at the time, contemplating the sudden political choices imposed on the population. The film is part lament, part critique, and it combines Nic Sandiland’s imagery of fleeting everyday actions with Wendy Houstoun’s poetic text and James Keane’s emotive score to highlight the anguish and sense of loss felt by many during this time of change.

(HD Video 3m39s).
